YouTube updates policies on content related to firearms

YouTube announced today an update on content featuring firearms. With this update, YouTube now prohibits certain types of content, which include videos that:

  • Intend to sell firearms or specific accessories, such as the ones that enable a firearm to simulate automatic fire or convert a firearm to automatic fire (e.g., bump stocks, gatling triggers, drop-in auto sears, conversion kits), and high capacity magazines (i.e., magazines or belts carrying more than 30 rounds).
  • Provide instructions on how to manufacture a firearm, ammunition and accessories.
  • Show users how to install the above-mentioned accessories or modifications.

If your channel includes this type of content, make sure to check additional details about this policy and keep updated on any changes. This update will be in effect in one month, so you still have time to review your content to apply any necessary changes.
