Repetitious Content: Don't expose your channel to a possible termination

Repetitious content is how YouTube classifies content that is very similar to other content available in your channel, that usually makes it hard to find differences going from one video to another. This policy violation can lead to channel demonetization as well as termination, so it's very important to focus on unique, quality content.

As part of the monetization policies, videos need to be unique. This is to prevent abuse from creators from spamming the platform with copies of the same videos, which affect what viewers think of YouTube, quality wise, and ensures advertisers are not running their ads on multiple copies of the same content, thus giving them a chance to reach more of the audience they are aiming for. This in turn helps legitimate creators getting more adds on their content, which can translate in an increased revenue potential.

You should not upload:
  1. Content that exclusively features readings of other materials you did not originally create, like text from websites or news feeds.
  2. Songs modified to change the pitch or speed, but are otherwise identical to the original.
  3. Similar repetitive content, or mindless content with low educational value, commentary, or narrative.
  4. Templated, mass-produced, or programmatically generated content.
  5. Image slideshows or scrolling text with minimal or no narrative, commentary, or educational value.

You can:
  1. Use same intro and outro for your videos, if the bulk of your content is different.
  2. Create similar content, where each video talks specifically about the qualities of the subject you're featuring.
  3. Use short clips of similar objects edited together where you explain how they're connected.
  4. Create multiple videos around the same topic, if they are sufficiently unique on their own.
