What is Tipalti?
Tipalti is a payment method provided by Freedom! to their partners. Tipalti is a global partner payment automation system to manage, execute and reconcile the entire process of making outbound payments to partners.
Which currencies and payment methods does Tipalti support?
Tipalti can pay in the local currency in over 190 countries. The payment method depends on the country and these includes ACH (automated clearinghouse), wire transfer, Global ACH (eCheck), PayPal, and prepaid debit cards. What are the requirements to activate this payment method?
To be eligible to receive payments via Tipalti you need to have at least 200,000 views in the last 30 days.
Do I need to pay any transaction fees for receiving payments via Tipalti?
Yes. There are transaction fees that will depend on the payment method, therefore, the total amount to be paid should be greater than the transaction fee. Fees are charged to you, per transaction, as part of the payment.
- If the payment is refunded or canceled, the cancellation fee will be charged to you, thus reducing your earnings and the following catchup amount.

Foreign exchange rate:
- The foreign exchange rate for all payments is 2.50%. This applies when the currency selected is not USD. Please note that this would also cause additional delay due to Tipalti using intermediary banks to convert to target currency. Additionally, the intermediary banks may require further verification of the payment and request forms and identification to be submitted.
Is there a minimum amount for payments via Tipalti?
Yes. Some payment methods have a threshold of $100, however, Tipalti also allows for payments in different currencies, and each type of payment and currency may have different threshold requirements.
If my earnings don't meet the theshold requirements of my payment method/currency, what will happen to my earnings?
If the payment method/currency you have selected has a threshold that you haven't met with your earnings, the payment will be denied and your earnings will remain with Freedom! until there are enough earnings for the payment to be made. Once that happens, you will see a catch-up option in your Revenue page, that you can use to request the payment. To learn more about catch-up payments, click here.
Is there a maximum amount for payments via Tipalti?
There is no maximum payment amount.
How do I change the payment method in my profile?
Partners that qualify to access this payment method will see Tipalti as a selectable option in their Freedom! profile. To see a step by step tutorial on how to select Tipalti as your preferred payment method click here.
Can I change my payment preference in Tipalti (i.e. bank transfer to paper check)?
Yes, you can do this at any time. The changes will go into effect during the next upcoming payment. You just need to edit the information in the account settings of your Freedom! dashboard.
How does the payment via check work?
Checks are sent standard mail via USPS. We are 100% reliant on USPS to successfully deliver the check. Wells Fargo will create the check with the address provided and mail from New York. There is no tracking on the checks. If you have problems with the delivery of the check, we can cancel and re-issue another check, however, you will have to pay the fee, as seen in the table above. Please click "Submit a request", at the top of this page to open a support ticket if you want help cancelling a check, and make sure to mention in your message that you agree to pay the fee. It's advised that you update your address, or change to another payment method for the payment if check delivery is not working.
How long will it take for the payment to be reflect on my Tipalti account?
The payment will be sent to your Tipalti account on the same day that Freedom! sends the payments by PayPal. Click here to see our full payment schedule. Please note that transfers from Tipalti to your preferred payment option will depend on a variety of factors including: payment method type, foreign exchange conversions, and the individual payee’s banking system.
- Important: If your bank account is from India, Pakistan or Bangladesh, and it's been 7 business days from the date Freedom! sent you the payment, and you still haven't received it, please check with the beneficiary bank to confirm all forms are filled out. Many times, payments are held between beneficiary and a correspondent bank because forms are missing, which can cause delays on the payments. The most common forms are the Form R and the Form C.
Will there be a separate invoice for the fees on the revenue page when the payment is submitted?
Currently, we do not have the ability to display fees on the dashboard but you will see the transaction fees when selecting the payment method. The image below shows an example:
How do I know if the payment was sent by PayPal or Tipalti?
The earnings page will show how the payment was sent as well as the status.
Can I login on Tipalti's website and view my transactions?
No. You will not be provided with account/login credentials to Tipalti's website, you are just given a unique identifier that is linked with Freedom!
If I already have a Tipalti account can I use that to receive Tipalti payments?
No. The account should be registered under Freedom! and since you are not given any credentials you do not have any means of using the same information, even if you have an account with another company.
I didn't receive my Tipalti payment, what should I do?
The most common payment option is wire transfer. In some countries, these transfers may take more time than usual, such as India, Pakistan or Bangladesh (note that this may apply to other countries).
Below are some of the steps you can take if you have not received our payment in your bank account 7 business days after we sent you the payment:
- Check your Tipalti payment details in your Freedom! partner dashboard, to make sure they are accurate.
- Check if you have received an email from Tipalti requesting additional information.
- Contact your bank to make sure there are no additional documents to be provided (e.g. form C or form R).
- Contact Tipalti at email@example.com for an update.
